Katie Winter is a musician and educator in the Central Valley. She studied music at Fresno State and was a member in many ensembles, including the Wind Orchestra, Symphony Orchestra, President’s Quintet, Bulldog Marching Band, and New Music Ensemble. She has performed in Spain and Australia with the Fresno State Alumni Wind Orchestra and in the Disney Concert Hall with the FOOSA Symphony Orchestra. Katie is currently an active performer in the Russell Howland Clarinet Choir and the Wind Symphony of Clovis, a professional-level wind ensemble in the Central Valley.

The Notable Beginnings Youth Choir has a purpose of instilling the love of music in children.  Students will be given the opportunity to expand their musical horizons and develop new friendships through a love for singing. This choir is unique in that we sing recognizable music – songs that children know and love!  Our repertoire includes show tunes, pop tunes and modern music.  We also incorporate music theory into our lessons giving children the knowledge they need to one day read sheet music independently.  We want our students to be excited and enthusiastic about the music they are learning!  Students will meet weekly for one hour rehearsal at America’s Kids in Motion and will perform a minimum of three times per year.

Requirements : 4 years minimum age and love of music!

Piano lessons at Notable Beginnings offers fundamental concepts and skills like finger placement, scales, pedaling, key differentiation and rhythm.  Our teachers are skilled pianists who are passionate about passing on the art of playing piano.  In tune with each child’s own dreams and imaginings, our piano teachers create safe, nurturing classrooms.  Your child will be taught using the Alfred Piano Method.  Levels 1A, 1B and 2 are taught in 30 minute lessons.  Levels 3,4,5 and 6 typically advance to a 45 minute lesson.  Child’s readiness for 45 minute lessons are also considered.  Students will meet weekly for rehearsals at America’s Kids In Motion and will perform a minimum of three times per year.

Requirements: 5 years minimum age and love of music!

The joy and love of music can be taught through violin at AKIM!  In these beginning violin lessons your child will learn note reading skills, rhythm reading skills, aural skills, technique development and musical time and feel, improvisation, composition, arranging, song writing and the exploration of various genres and repertoires. Young beginners will discover, learn and play the violin in our comfortable and nurturing environment.  Students will meet weekly for a one hour rehearsal at America’s Kids In Motion and will perform a minimum of three times per year.
