Our pre professional dance conservatory is an exceptional dance program offering technique based classes at the highest level. The conservatory is designed for dancers who have a desire to dance to a higher level of technique, performance and artistry with the goal of continuing dance in higher education or as a professional career. Additionally, In the Spotlight offers a superior Ballet Conservatory program that provides advanced training in ballet technique, pointe and variations, providing a pre-professional training program for serious ballet students. All conservatory Dancers are grouped according to ability level with age consideration.
Senior Company
In The Spotlight Dance Conservatory’s Company Program is a pre-professional training program for dancers ages 12-18 years old.
The focus of the program is to prepare its members for collegiate and professional level training. We accomplish this by offering a solid technical foundation in all genres of dance (with an emphasis on ballet), as well as performance opportunities and audition preparation.
Our Company Members train a minimum of 14 hours per week Monday-Saturday, attend 4 required conventions each dance season, and participate in community performances such as “The Nutcracker”.
Over the past 12 years we have had Company Alumni accepted into reputable dance programs such as CSU Long Beach, CSU Fullerton and UC Irvine. Our dancers have been trainees in professional training programs such as Alonzo King’s Lines Ballet, POST Ballet and Launch at The Brea Space. Company Alumni have also gone on to be employed by major entertainment enterprises, such as Disney.
We believe that a dancer’s potential is reached with a healthy balance of competition and artistry. Our faculty acknowledges and treats each dancer as a unique individual highlighting their strengths and helping them gain confidence in the more challenging aspects of their training. We strive to foster an atmosphere that promotes self expression and a great appreciation of the dancers’ fellow company members as both artists and team mates. In The Spotlight Dance Conservatory’s Company truly, is in a class by itself.
Junior Company
In The Spotlight Dance Conservatory’s Junior Company Program is a training program designed to prepare dancers ages 9-12 for the Company Program at In The Spotlight.
Our Junior Company Members train a minimum of 10 hours per week Monday-Friday, attend 4 required conventions each dance season, as well as participate in community performances such as “The Nutcracker”.
We believe that even young dancers can show tremendous amounts of strength and commitment. Our Junior Company fosters a love for dance, an appreciation of diverse choreographic styles, and an overall sense of teamwork. We are incredibly proud of this program, and the young artists it serves.
JumpStart Company
In The Spotlight Dance Conservatory’s JumpStart Company Program is a training program designed to prepare dancers ages 6-9 for the Junior Company Program at In The Spotlight.
Our JumpStart Company Members train a minimum of 4 hours per week Monday-Friday, attend 3 local performances and 1 out of town convention each season, as well as participate in community performances such as “The Nutcracker”.
We believe that the very first step to successful dance training is fostering a love for dance! Our JumpStart Company is designed to do exactly that. With caring, energetic teachers that build self esteem and passion with every step, our JumpStart Company is the ultimate jumping off point for young dancers.
